CITIZEN ASSOCIATION “BUBANJ” CELEBRATES ITS SAINT DAY

Citizen Association `Bubanj` traditionally celebrated on May 6 Djurdjevdan - St George`s Day–its Saint Day. The manifestation for the people who live in this part of Nis and many guests was organized in the amphitheatre of Memorial park `Bubanj`. After the interesting culture programme prepared by the children, traditional saint day cake cutting ceremony started. Milan Djurdjevic, president of Palilula Assembly and Palilula councilors represented local government and Palilula Municipality. Sladjana Stankovic, president of Citizen Association `Bubanj` welcomed the guests and expressed the belief that in future various programmes would be organized there. Djurdjevic reminded the present guests about the initiative of rearranging `Bubanj`. This idea has become again very popular. He also added that this memorial park represents the biggest green surface in the territory of Nis and that it had been largely and with injustice neglected during the previous period. Milan Djurjdevic also emphasized that Palilula Municipality was planning to arrange that park, so that it slowly gained combined sport –memorial character.

The financial sources for the arrangement of this space for now are still being provided from regular Municipal budget.
