YOUTH IN ACTION TRAINING

Group `Let's ... " from Belgrade and Educational Center from Krusevac, officially named as the Contact points for European Union program "YOUTH IN ACTION", with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, have launched a project which aims to raise the capacity of youth organizations, organizations dealing with youth, local and regional Offices for Youth, in order to take part in Youth in Action (MUA) of the European Union in the best way.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM `YOUTH IN EU ACTION`
European Commission, European Parliament and EU states have agreed to establish a program "Youth in Action", the most significant EU support mechanism for the implementation of international youth projects and the legal framework for support-formal educational activities and youth mobility. The program is implemented in the period from 2007 to 2013. The program "Youth in Action" is designed to respond to current needs of young people in Europe, including Serbia and other Balkan countries.

TRAINING GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
In the period from April to July 2009 there will be total of 20 training sessions held in the municipalities and cities in Serbia.
The two-day training will aim to promote knowledge, skills and motivation of young people and those who work with young people in local communities for the successful implementation of the projects within the program Youth in Action of the European Union. By the end of this training, the participants will be improve their knowledge and understanding of the objectives, priorities and capabilities of MUA, will get familiar with basic procedures for writing applications and managing projects within the program of MUA, will be familiar with the key competences for whole life learning and instrument for recognition of informal learning in MUA program (Youthpass) etc..

Specific objectives – up to the end of this training the participants will:

  • improve their knowledge and understanding of the objectives, priorities and capabilities of MUA
  • get familiar with basic procedures for application and management of projects within program MUA
  • deepen understanding of key concepts such as informal education, intercultural Learning and European citizenship
  • learn more about possible ways of finding partners and principles of international cooperation
  • have the opportunity to examine and compare the needs of young people from their environment and opportunities offered by program MUA
  • get familiar with the operations and functions Contact points for MUA and the work of the network multiplier
  • get familiar with the key competences for whole life learning and instrument for the recognition of informal learning in MUA program (Youthpass).

 
At the regional center for professional development of the employees in education – Nis-July 16 and 17 training "Youth in Action" was held where one of the participants was the was Natasa Stanojevic - Office for Youth coordinator.
