HUMANITARIAN EASTER CONCERT

While waiting for the coming Easter holidays, Nis audience will have an opportunity to enjoy in the masterpiece of Italian composer Giovanni Battista Pergolesi `Stabat Mater` on Thursday April 16 at National theatre of Nis at 20 00 hours.

Humanitarian Easter concert, organized by NKC (Nis Cultural Center) and Palilula Municipality, will be performed by `Constantinus` chamber orchestra, Chamber chorus of Nis with conductor Ivana Mirovic and soloists: Katarina Simonovic-Ivankovic (soprano) and Aleksandra Ristic (mezzo-soprano).

All the money from the tickets will be directed to the children of two special schools of Palilula and Nis – Center `Bubanj` and `14 Oktobar`.

At the press conference, organized in the building of Palilula Municipality, Srdjan Savic, director of NKC, Igor Aleksic, violin and the member of `Constantinus` emphasized that this musical event would promote all artistic talent and potentials of young artists from Nis, beside hearing great Pergolessi masterpiece and its humanitarian motive.

The Decision on supporting this project by Palilula Municipality in culture, apart from human ideas and motives, is concrete realization of strategic objectives of the development of our local community, emphasized the president Novakovic. Culture measured by individuals – citizens, decentralized, available, reaching for European cultural space, mission-promotion of the ideas and the support to cultural values and humanitarian work is a part of total efforts of Nis municipalities to make this part of Serbia also recognizable for its cultural events that go beyond local self-government.

Headmasters of the two schools: Olgica Kostic, `14 oktobar` and Gordana Zivkovic `Bubanj` expressed their gratitude to the organizers NKC and Palilula Municipality, but also for their support in the realization of educational process for the children with special needs.

Co-organizer of this event is `National theatre` of Nis.
