PERGOLESI IN HUMANITARIAN PURPOSES

The audience of Nis had the unique opportunity to enjoy in the master piece of Italian composer G. B. Perogolesi `Stabat Mater` in the time of Easter holidays.

This Easter concert was organized by NKC in the cooperation with the National Theatre of Nis and Palilula Municipality. `Konstantinus` trio from Nis played Peroglessi notes in the hall of National Theatre. `Konstantinus` chamber orchestra with Igor Aleksic, violine, were followed by the Chamber chorus of Nis with conductor Ivana Mirovic soloists: Katarina Simonovic-Ivankovic (soprano) and Aleksandra Ristic (mezzo-soprano).

All the money from the tickets, as it had been previously announced, is dedicated to humanitarian purposes- the pupils of two special schools of Nis (Palilula) center `Bubanj` and `14 oktobar`. This donation is very important for the pupils and teachers of these two schools and, according to the words of the two headmasters, this money will be in school material purposes spent. In this way the educational process will be only improved.

Srdjan Savic, director of NKC, emphasized that the interest for this concert by Nis public only justified the expectations and that all this gives the opportunity to put more efforts in opening Opera in Nis. This initiative was supported by the president of Palilula Municipality PhD Igor Novakovic who emphasized that, apart from humanitarian motive, the whole support to this concert is the realization of strategic Municipal development objectives – culture `created` for people, decentralized, available to everyone.
