STOPPING LIFE ENVIRONMENT VIOLATION IN GORNJE MEDJUROVO?

Palilula Municipality authorities visited Public enterprise `Mediana` workers in Gornje Medjurovo village and Village council members who were engaged on organized removal of wild dump places. With this activity, realized within the programme of world ecologic campaign `Stop climate changes` and UN world summit in Copenhagen, the Municipal strategy of inclusion of settlements in villages in organized collecting and outfreight of garbage, was promoted.

`With this action we want to reduce and prevent appearance of wild dump places and stop with this practice of violation and pollution of our natural resources – emphasized Boban Mikic, member of Palilula Council. `No one, along Morava river, is not drinking water from their wells and they have it enough. This only speaks about our unconcern. The question that is posed here is do we eat healthy food?`

With entering the system of outfreigt of garbage and permanent removal of dump places in Gornje Medjurovo village we will transform this area into refined urban parts` –says Nadica Zivkovic, president of Citizens Council. `In cooperation with Public Enterprise `Mediana` we will provide minimum of activities of every village household because in that way we will contribute to preserving health of children in village and in the same manner of the wide community.

`In the Strategy of Municipality we wrote that –emphasizes Novakovic, president of Palilula Municipality, our Palilula must be `green municipality`. As one responsible organization of local community of the City of Nis, we will put our efforts in future period that every citizen of Palilula,  in these settled places, uses healthy drinking water, then the activity of planting trees in waste lands will be a `must` and adaption of inter-residential blocks, then working on making us all concern about these matters and removal of results of previous unconcern, to provide adequate promotion of potentials in villages for rural tourism development.`

There are 15 villages that are around the line of narrow urban Palilula municipal part. It is fully expected that with the City support and cooperation with Public Enterprise `Mediana` other villages from municipal territory will be included with the programme of organized waste outfreight.
