PALILULA DEVELOPMENT HELPED BY THE CITY

Working version of `Programme for City of Nis development for 2010`, created in Administration of Economy, Sustainable Development and Environmental Protection –Department for sustainable development of the City of Nis, was promoted in Palilula Municipality. Dragan Karlicic, head of Administration and Aleksandar Zdraljevic, chief of the Department spoke about this plan-type of document that represents the realization of `Strategy of City of Nis development` (adopted in 2007). `Our wish is to include everyone who is interested into the process of development planning and this obligation that comes from the Law on local self-government and City Statute - emphasized Dragan Karlicic. In this way they would give the contribution and take over the responsibility for future city development. `This meeting here in Palilula Municipality is one form of contribution to creating objective analyses of reached degree of development and defining priorities in the development of one organization of local self-government on the basis of available resources. Strategic planning in Palilula is based on objectively viewed and taken into account markers of infrastructural and economic potentials and position of our local community in the City. That is why our proposals are ambitious, developmental and enough realistic which make them realizable`-emphasizes PhD Igor Novakovic, president of Palilula Municipality.

`With successful engagement of these resources and potentials-human resources, technical and political, we adopted `Strategic plan of Municipal development` and with quality of these projects we provided, in the previous period, additional resources in the budget of Municipality and conditions for working engagement of more than 100 people from the evidence of National employment service. That is why`, concluded Novakovic, we expect from the City appropriate support and valuation of our results`.

In the work of this meeting, beside delegation of the Administration of economy, Milan Djurdjevic, Palilula Assembly president and Vesna Jovanovic Jankovic, general secretary of the Assembly, as well as members of Municipal council-Zorica Stojiljkovic, Milan Stevanovic, Milan Andrejci and Boban Mikic participated. It is a common knowledge that to the quality of one community effect numerous condition, first of all natural and social environment, preserved life environment and stable economical resources. Life quality of our  citizens in the priority in our work-it is said in Palilula. Good position and natural resources our municipality has, should be valorized in appropriate way-it is emphasized in the discussion. Improving life in the village, investments in communal infrastructure, development of small and medium enterprises, organic production and rural tourism, attracting new investments are all parts of activities of Palilula authorities.
