"LET US START TODAY AND SAVE TOMORROW"

World climate change day – December 6th is also noticed and celebrated in Nis by many promotions, lectures and citizen peaceful walk.  With the help of Palilula Municipality, this planetary campaign was organized by Ekopolis net and coalition of non governmental organizations `Evrobalkan` in  the cooperation with the Association of physicists of Serbia and society `Milutin Milankovic`. Under the motto Let us start today and save tomorrow stop to climate changes 2008, this activity started with the  public speaking at the press conference in Media Center in Nis. The themes were dealing with global warming, causers, results of successful Kyoto protocol applying that was ratified in Serbia in the beginning of this year. PhD Ljubomir Nesic (Association of physicists), PhD Pavle Premovic (society `Beoagreen`), PhD Ivan Cvetanovic, Ekopolis net, Ratomir Petkovic (Red Cross in Nis) took all part in speaking. On the partnership of local authorities in the Region and non-governmental sector Dragan Vidojkovic, national coordinator of CUW campaign and Zorica Stoiljkovic , councilor of Palilula Municipality spoke and the representatives of Scouts union, Ekoman Institute, multimedia art  association -`Car Konstantin`, FPA, Plant, Esperanto society, Blakan eco federation also took part. Using this opportunity the  book `Ecological part of school lectures`, by Marija Randjelovic was also promoted.

During the same day many people attended the public speaking organized at PMF Faculty. The speaking was on fundamental contributions to world science-`Canon on sunning the Earth and the causes of climate change on the Earth`, by PhD Zoran Knezevic , manager of Astronomy observatory, Belgrade and PhD Goran Djordjevic, PMF Nis, Slavko Maksimovic, president of `Milutin Milankovic` society. The film on M. Milankovic proceeded.  This activity was continued by gathering talented pupils of Nis elementary schools in `Ucitelj Tasa` school. They were given an interesting lecture by PhD Radivoje Mancic on science role in the education for sustainable development. `Hidden treasure` - documentary was also played for the pupils gathered in this school.

This all finished with citizen walk around the city of Nis , from Nis Fortress to the monument of Stevan Sremac and Kalca. About 350 participants of the campaign sent the message of saving the planet to the world.
