PALILULA ETNO ASOCIATION FOUNDED

09.02.2009.

After the initiative of 15 people- future founders on February 9 2009 PALILULA ETNO SOCIETY was formed with the aim to cherish old crafts and traditional cultural and spiritual values of Serbian nation.

Ana Borovac was elected for the president of the Association assembly and Ljubodrag Vukic for deputy president. The founders then elected five members of the Managing board: Nenad Jovanovic (president of the Board), Zorica Nikolic Pejic (deputy president), Dragan Stojanovic (member), Zvonko Sladic (member) and Jelena Vlajisavljevic (member). Members of the Supervising board of newly founded association are: Boban Mikic, Zoran Jovancic and Vesna Zivkovic.

`This citizen initiative, supported by local government, is concrete realization of `Strategic plan of Palilula Municipality`- emphasized Boban Mikic, member of Palilula council. By gathering craftsmen, artists, musicians, `handmade` producers of traditional clothes, producers of traditional food and drinks, we in Palilula, put our efforts in preserving Serbian tradition. With the programme of Palilula etno association, the organization of exhibitions of traditional heritage, artistic and painters colonies, runaway shows of folk traditional clothes, organization of professional fairs, schools of icon making art and painting, old craft school – these all are planned to take their place within this idea.`
