FREE ACCESS TO
INFORMATION

Standing
Conference of
Towns and
Municipalities
in the
cooperation with
the American Bar
Association Rule
of Law
Initiative,
Central European
and Eurasian Law
Division (CEELI),
and through
financial
assistance of
the United
States Agency
for
International
Development (USAID),
the (SCTM), has
launched the
“Free Access to
Information”
Project. The
goal of the
project is to
support better
understanding
and more
effective
implementation
of the Law on
Free Access to
Information of
Public
Importance of
the Republic of
Serbia at local
level.
Palilula
Municipality was
represented by
Marina Blecic
and Milan
Andrejic - member of
Municipal
Council. Through
short reports
and panel
discussion, the
legal right on
privacy and the
Law on Free
Access to
Information of
Public
Importance were
analyzed, but
also the
weaknesses of
juridical system
in the sphere of
free access to
information.
Good practice
examples also
were emphasized
- these are the
experiences of
the people who
are authorized
for the
procedure after
the demands for
free access to
information on
the local level.
Beside Rodoljub
Sabic,
confidant for
the information
of public
importance of
Republic of
Serbia, the
experts from
this matter also
took part on
this seminar, as
well as the
representatives
of these local
governments, who
presented
practical
examples.
