COOPERATION OF PALILULA AND CENTER FOR VINICULTURE

The representatives of Palilula Municipality visited this institution celebrating Saint Trifun (February 14) also the Saint Day of Center for viniculture and wine production. Delegation of Palilula Municipality consisted of PhD Novakovic -Municipality president, Djurdjevic - Assembly president, Ilic-head of Municipal administration, Marina Blecic and Municipal councilors: Milos Stojkovic, Boban Mikic, Milan Stevanovic and Milan Andrejic.
The guests first visited wine cellar and lab of the Center and then the president together withMilos Ristic the deputy of general manager of the Center, traditionally cut the vine (tree) in one of the best vineyards . They both wished to improve vine production in this area.
There are 15 villages in the territory of Palilula gravitating to narrow city area. According to their geographic position, type of soil, climate factors and tradition, these villages have excellent basis for organized high productive agricultural production. Vine growing has had long tradition in this area. Around 355 Palilula hectares are with vine culture. However, all Nis vine cultivation is in bad position because of `photo plasma`- the cause for red and yellow colour of leaves of Flavescence doree.

The president of Palilula Municipality and Vesna Rankovic, general manager of this Center, emphasized the role of the Center in agriculture development of Nis area, as well as of this part of Serbia and the possibility of more intensive cooperation of these two sides - the Municipality and the Center.
With Strategic programme of development significant investments and special care were directed to this agricultural branch.
