The most

book
dedicated to
the film of
all time
``What is
film?` by
Andre Bazin,
after 42
years from
its first
edition will
appear in
Serbian
language and
at the
market owing
credits to
NKC and 3D
publishing
house from
Belgrade.
This
important
edition of
film art for
the 90th
anniversary
of birth and
50 years
from Andre
Bazin`s
death. The
support and
help of
Palilula
Municipality
also came.
This
Municipality
bought 50
book copies
and directed
them to
educational
purposes.
`We want to
give these
books to
libraries of
Nis
elementary
and high
schools` –
emphasized
president
Novakovic.
`The meaning
of this
double: to
provide our
talented
children to
have one
significant
work of art
that is
necessary
for entering
certain
faculties,
faculties
for dramatic
arts, as
well as to
direct
public
intention to
the needs
that the art
of film
should
become one
of the
subjects in
schools`.
Andre Bazin
made with
his book one
of the
biggest
crossroads
for American
and European
film
mission.
Theory on
author
policy,
representing
`French new
wave` and
`Check wave`
are
emphasized
in new way
of thinking
about the
films and
arts.
The edition
is signed by
Severin M.
Franic as an
editor in
chief, and
executive
editor is
Dejan Dabic,
film critic
from Nis.
Official
promotion of
the book
`What is
film?` will
be within
this year
Nis Film
festival.
With this
activity the
positive
cooperation
of Palilula
Municipality
and NKC in
promotion
and support
of important
cultural
projects
continued.
