SUCCESSFUL
MEETING WITH
CITIZENS OF
PALILULA

In very
complex
social
situation,
marked with
economic
crisis, work
strikes,
unsuccessful
processes of
privatizations
and very
dynamic
parliamentary
activity,
the
authorities
of Palilula
Municipality
recently
decided to
introduce
their
citizens and
the public
with the
results of
one year
work and
present them
those
results
publicly and
over media.
After the
invitation
of the
president
Novakovic
and in the
spirit of
Aarhus
convention
on access to
information,
more than
hundred
citizens
came to this
event to the
public
discussion
in NKC (Nis
Cultural
Center).
President of
Palilula
Assembly,
Milan
Djurdjevic,
Vesna
Jovanovic
Jankovic,
general
secretary of
Palilula
Municipality
and the
members of
Palilula
Assembly
were also
present
during this
discussion.
After the
introduction
part about
the past
Municipal
work, also
illustrated
in `Strategy
of
development`
and Bulletin
of Palilula,
president
Novakovic
emphasized
that, after
last year
local
elections,
in the
beginning of
July 2008,
new
authorities
of the
Municipality
decisively
emphasized
their vision
on the way
of European
integrations-
the
development
of the
Municipality
depends on
the
community
availability
to
rationally
engage
material
and,
specially,
human
resources.
`In that
sense, our
activities
were based
on one
permanent
action of
creating
conditions
for economic
growth,
increasing
the
employment
rate and
better life
of Palilula
citizens` -
emphasized
Novakovic.
In the
cooperation
with the
City of Nis
and Ministry
of
administration
and local
self-government
came to the
solving of
housing
issues for
the people
living in
Mramor-Krusce
area.
Palilula
also started
the action
`Land
reconstruction
of green
surfaces in
Palilula
Municipality
residential
quarters` at
the
territory of
the
Municipality,
then created
a project `
Cleaning of
the terrain
for paths
forming in
Bubanj`. The
Municipality
also works
on `Opening
of the
center for
entrepreneurship
development`
realized
within the
programme of
local
economic
development
in Nis
region. This
project is
one of 17
developmental
projects,
approved for
Palilula by
LEDIB
programme on
the theme of
local
economic
development
and
employment
increasing.
The citizens
were
introduced
with
material-financial
business of
Municipality.
With the
responsible
politics of
new
Municipal
authorities
in the
recent
period,
positive
business was
implemented
in the
amount of
11,5 million
dinars, and
the system
of quality
management
was also set
up according
to the
demands of
ISO
9001:2000
standard.
In the
conditions
of harder
business
activities,
all the
given above
activities,
as it was
especially
emphasized
during this
meeting,
will be of
great
importance
in the work
of this
local
self-government.
In very
dynamic,
more than
two hour
conversation
of the
authorities
and the
citizens of
Palilula,
that was in
whole
estimated as
a very
successful
event, the
problems of
the locals
were
analyzed and
they will
get the
priority in
further
Municipal
problem
solving.
