ELECTRICITY
MARKED THE
BEGINNING OF
MOVING IN
NEW HOMES
08.05.2009.

In `Zelena
ulica`, Novo
Selo village
happiness
finally
came. Ten
years after
NATO bombing
of Nis, that
made the
families in
Medosevac
(part of
Nis)
homeless,
people who
wanted to
have new
homes
instead of
repaired old
ones,
finally,
after many
years, got
new homes.
With special
thankfulness
to the
initiative
of Palilula
Municipality
where this
settlement
is situated,
and Nis City
authorities,
after one
year- the
time when
six new
houses were
built, got
electricity.
Moving in
was finally
provided for
the
families.
Biljana
Jovanovic,
member of
City council
and Zorica
Stoiljkovic
councilor of
Palilula
Municipality
visited Novo
Selo where
newly built
objects are
situated.
After many
efforts and
struggles
that these
people had
had the last
decade, the
family of
one of them
- Desimir
Blagojevic
did not hide
their
satisfaction.
The family
specially
thanked Nis
City
authorities
and Palilula
authorities
of having
provided
necessary
life
conditions
in their new
homes. `It
was simply
inadmissible
to prevent
these
people, that
had been
left without
their homes
before, from
moving into
new homes
because
there was no
electricity`.-
B. Jovanovic
said. In the
agreement
with the
authorized
enterprises,
the mayor
and his
associates
took over
the
responsibility
to provide
these
living-
normal- life
conditions
for the
families who
lost their
homes in
NATO
bombing. In
future all
the problems
should be
solved due
to agreed
dynamics and
synchronized
work added
Biljana
Jovanovic,
City
councilor.
Families
from
Medosevac
have
protested
since 2000.
Two years
ago Desimir
Blagojevic,
a
demonstrator,
even wanted
to commit
suicide.
This protest
continued
and lasted
more than a
month and a
few times
City
authorities
warned the
demonstrators
that their
protest was
politically
motivated.
Up to now,
these
families
from
Medosevac
have lived
in temporary
accommodation-building
in Palih
boraca
Street in
Pantelej.
