CARE FOR THE OLD - JOB FOR THE UNEMPLOYED

Within the project of the City of Nis and Center for Social Work `Sveti Sava` in Nis with the title `INTEGRATED SERVICE OF SERVICES FOR THE CARE OF THE OLD AND DISABLED` Stationary day- stay center was founded in Palilula including the team for the terrain work. During this occasion president of Palilula Municipality, PhD Igor Novakovic with his associates Milan Djurdjevic, president of Palilula Assembly, Milos Stojkovic, member of Palilula Council, Bojan Ilic, head of Municipal Administration and Slavoljub Savic, head administration associate, visited the participants of the project and the Center itself. The address of the Center is in `Barska` street, `Association of deaf and hard of hearing` building. `According to citizen registration from 2002 every seventh citizen of Palilula is older than 65. Our Serbia is in the group of 25 states which population is mostly people of third age-emphasized the president of Palilula Municipality. That is why one of our primary objectives is care of the old and disabled. According to this point, one can recognize responsible local self –government and developed society`. Dusica Davidovic, member of City Council, Zoran Jovic, director of Center for Social Work, Ivan Nikolic, head of Administration of Children's Welfare, Social and Primary Health Care of the City of Nis were all present during this visit. ` The objective of this joint project of City of Nis, Center for Social Work and Palilula Municipality is free medical help to people of third age`-emphasized Dusica Davidovic. In Day stay center at Palilula, every work day from 7 30 to 14 30 the old people over 65 will be provided: free of charge medical preventive examinations, blood pressure check, psycho-social support services, physiotherapist, gerontology `house-help` - assistants. Terrain mobile teams these services provide to the disabled and to those who have difficulties with their motions or walking. On this project are engaged the doctors, nurses, psychologists, sociologists, lawyers, physiotherapists and other professionals. The project lasts for five months. Palilula Municipality during the previous period (2008) successfully realized the project for the old with the title` Integrated social and health protection of the old at the territory of Palilula Municipality` that was estimated very positively.
