INFRASTRUCTURAL PROJECTS OF PALILULA AND SVOGE

Serbian Palilula Municipality from Nis and Bulgarian Municipality Svoge (Sofia region) prepare common presentation within new cycle of programme for neighborhood cooperation Bulgaria - Serbia that is co-financed by IPA and is realized in the cooperation with the Ministry of regional development and public works of Republic of Bulgaria (MAS) and Ministry of finance of Republic of Serbia. During a business meeting, organized in Svoge, these two project teams and authorities from both municipalities, agreed to work on the project in the area of infrastructural improvement in municipalities and that the carrier of the project would be Palilula Municipality.

Milan Djurdjevic, president of Palilula Assembly together with Bojan Ilic, head of Municipal administration, Boban Mikic Municipal councilor and Milos Stojadinovic from Municipal project center, emphasized that Svoge Municipality is one of rare local authorities in Bulgaria that has its office in Brussels and is on the very `spring` of information in projects financed by EU. Cooperation with Palilula Municipality started within the neighborhood programme Bulgaria-Serbia ` increasing level of information flow and communication between neighborhood regions` 2004 financed by European agency for reconstruction within CARDS programme-emphasized Djurdjevic. Emil Cvetanov Atanasov, president of Bulgarian municipality Svoge, with his associates Pejo Stojanov Stojanov, Danco Kirilo Hristovi and Veronika Bogumilov Marinova, expressed his satisfaction that cooperation of two twin municipalities would continue, all aiming at local communities development. The estimated budget for this project cycle is 6,153,381 Euros and final deadline for submitting proposals in elaboration and implementation of common projects in the sphere of Serbia Bulgaria neighborhood cooperation is November 30 2009.
