BIKES FOR THE WINNERS OF `IF I WERE THE PRESIDENT OF MUNICIPALITY` COMPETITION

`European week of local democracy` was celebrated in Palilula Municipality with many activities and meetings with local citizens, pupils from schools and representatives of this local government of the City of Nis. Call for papers for essays and drawings on the theme `IF I WERE THE PRESIDENT OF MUNICIPALITY` was launched in the previous week. All the pupils works who took part in this competition were exhibited in Municipal hall. After the jury decision the most beautiful drawing  was the one by little Djordje Djordjevic from `Branko Radicevic` elementary school in Gabrovac and the most original literal text was by young author Ksenija Jocic from `Kralj Petar Prvi` elementary school. Milan Djurdjevic, president of Palilula Assembly and Zorica Stojiljkovic, Municipal councilor made the reception for the pupils- winners. Djordje and Ksenija got new bikes – presents from Palilula Municipality.

The activity within European week of local democracy is European event on national and local level that is active in promotion of the local elected representatives and government from one side and citizens` knowledge improvement on local government work on the other side, together with the encouragement of citizens` participation on local level. Palilula Municipality was visited by 300 pupils and citizens during this week from October 12-18.
