RAILWAY CROSSINGS UNDER RECONSTRUCTION

Until the end of this week the works on the reconstruction of two railway crossings in Palilula - at the crossroad of `Jug Bogdanova` and `Branka Radicevica` streets, next to `Angropromet ` business building and at the end of `Obilicev venac` street at triangle, including the railway crossing at `Mija Stanimirovic` school by Electronic Industry, will all have been completed.  These reconstruction works are being realized by Palilula Municipality in the cooperation with Public Enterprise `Zeleznice Srbije` (Railways of Serbia) and Machine Industry of Nis. The value of this investment is about one million dinars. According to Palilula president Novakovic, one of the biggest problems of this part of Nis is crossing of road and railway traffic. Because of this traffic regulation state and due to frequent stopping of road traffic, traffic jams are regular situations and security of the pedestrians is constantly jeopardized. Since here we deal with inhabited parts in Palilula, where educational institutions are concentrated and lot of young people are circulating, Palilula Municipality has initiated to solve this problem in one and only appropriate way - dislocation of railway. The problems for solving this matter are many: lack of money, other priorities by authorized Republic organs and funds and it has been postponed for more than one decade.
