LOCAL SELF-GOVERNMENT IMPROVEMENT – INDJIJA GUIDELINES

In the organization of local economic development of Indjija Municipality and Agency for IT, GIS and communications in Indjija, the seminar for the representatives of local authorities of Serbia with the title `IMPROVEMENT OF WORK FOR LOCAL SELF GOVERNMENT – APPLY POSITIVE EXPERIENCE` was organized in October 2009. Milan Djurjdevic, president of Palilula Assembly and Bojan Ilic, head of administrational department were in the delegation from Palilula Municipality. The participants of this seminar together considered the models of improvement of local self government efficiency, including administration, infrastructural investments, which are the preconditions for economical development of local government, as well as the experiences of local regions on unified communal billing service of initial resources of local self government in function of its faster economical development. This seminar was opened by Goran Jesic, president of Indjija Municipality. Jadranka Beljan Balaban, county general secretary for local self government and inter-municipal cooperation of Vojvodina, said that exchange of positive experiences is very important. `This seminar is one of the ways to access the modernization of the local self government. Our Secretariat over the recent years has been providing concrete support to municipalities over its programmes. The help was about brining strategic plans of development, implementation of various trainings with final objective to reform local administrations, providing quality and fast citizens` service and strengthening inner capacities`, said Mrs. Beljan Balaban. General manager of Agency IT, GIS and communications, Mile Bodrozic, emphasized the objective of this seminar-understanding of importance and needs of local self government improvement in function of its total economical development. ` This is the first seminar that is organized by newly opened agencies and our plan is to establish these sort of events in future. We will represent the activities on the legalization of objects in the scope of new law, as well projects that Municipality of Indjija has completed in informational technologies sphere-software, GIS, local tax administration and System 48 work`, said Bodrozic.

During this Indjija seminar, the participants met with infrastructural investments importance into models in solving the problems of insufficient developed infrastructure, as future economical development precondition through new investments. Within the scope of this thematic sphere, special attention of the present participants was dedicated to the experiences in attracting direct investments.
